I believe that is a Cliff came up with some time back...Seal Clubber. Lol. That’s awesome. PETA would disagree but I dig the humor.

Indeed. Gotta put that name to use sooner or later!I believe that is a Cliff came up with some time back...
Yes please, I'll take whatever flavor of a REVV I can get!FAS Class A - is a no brainer for my clean tone.
Would LOVE to see more FAS amps.
My (uneducated) hypothesis is - lots of the amps that are requested (especially the Marshall derivatives) that are not currently in the Axe, can be created by tweaking Advanced parameters.
Would be cool if FAS did some of those tweaks and just published as another FAS Amp. Like a FAS REVV or FAS Fortin, etc.
This is another (old thread) on this topic where it's noted that Alan from Carol Ann amps worked with Cliff to create a model of a new Carol Ann within the Axe, to hear what it would sound like before building it.I've often wondered if a tube amp manufacturer could learn a lesson or two by examining the design of the FAS amps.
One thing I've learned from watching lots of amp tech stuff on youtube is all the other considerations you have to take into account when designing and building tube amps- component prices and availability, reliability, the amount of time it takes to design and build them, etc. I'm sure you could build a physical amp based on the design of a FAS model, but I don't know if it would be "worth it" from a business standpoint. Especially since everybody just wants a 5150 or a Friedman anyway, lolI've often wondered if a tube amp manufacturer could learn a lesson or two by examining the design of the FAS amps.
Super Tweed (fun for blues on steroids
It's Cliff's creation but I keep trying to get him to use the name for a model.Seal Clubber. Lol. That’s awesome. PETA would disagree but I dig the humor.
Yes, came over from the Ultra .Is big hair amp model technically a FAS model? Lol
Does this sound a lot different compared to this model in the AxeFX 2?The FAS 6160 is my new favorite block letter. Very underrated model.
Not sure. The only close reference I’d have would be the AX8, but I don’t remember trying that model when I owned one. It’s similar to the PVH 6160 model, just more refined.Does this sound a lot different compared to this model in the AxeFX 2?
FAS bass with a guitar cab IR (or two) and a drive pedal if you want a wall of soundI'm revisiting FAS models in depth today, and I'm kicking myself for not using them more often. The 800 Mod, Supertweed, FAS Express, FAS Wreck, and FAS Hot Rod are all incredible.
What exactly is the difference between the hot rod, big hair and 6ca7?I'm revisiting FAS models in depth today, and I'm kicking myself for not using them more often. The 800 Mod, Supertweed, FAS Express, FAS Wreck, and FAS Hot Rod are all incredible.

I think hot rod and 6ca7 are plexi models and big hair is jcm800? all sound good and my preferences change depending on the day lolGood question! Cliff @FractalAudio might tell us, but I have no idea. The Hot Rod is rocking my world today; I'm actually finding it to be the perfect thrash amp.
There's no need to "think"... These are "known" thingsI think hot rod and 6ca7 are plexi models and big hair is jcm800? all sound good and my preferences change depending on the day lol
The 6CA7 is a model of a real amp, not a "FAS" amp.
