Because it can sound better Personally, I don't think that IRs even were usable before Ultra res. All other formats are grainy and not nearly as clear and pronounced as their UR counterparts.
I think the real question is, why accept mediocrity?
'gooder' is relative. LOL But seriously, I was bent on UR at first, now I'm liking an IR if it's right, not for it's format so much. But I get what you mean. And for a couple presets in particular, lately I'm stuck on the stereo FACTORY CAB #105 Rumble EV12L Mix that Rain is referring to.
