External dual compressor and gate

Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to run like my post title says a dual compressor and gate like the DBX 266XS for example.
If so, how would I go around putting it in and plugging it all in together?

Where in the signal chain do you want to put it?
What problem does it solve for you?

I have an original DBX-166, but the idea should be the same:

Connect your AXE outputs (that go to your speakers/amp) to your DBX-266XS, keeping careful about left and right. Then connect your DBX outputs to your powered speakers/amp.
