Expression pedals with toe switch?

Apologies, I'm sure this is covered elsewhere but I can't seem to find it. Basically I'm looking for a decent-ish expression pedal with a toe switch. Is the Mission SP-1 the only one avialable atm? If so, which one is best for the AX8/FAS? I can only seem to find ones that say they are specifically for Quad Cortes, Line 6, Kemper...

Annoyingly, I used to have a Headrush xp pedal which I think would have been ideal but I sold it when I got rid of the Headrush Gigboard and they don't seem to be available any more.

The main reason I want a toe switch one is that I am using it for whammy, so I don't think an auto-on will work, as it would be too easy to accidentally switch it off and drop an octave which would be a bit jarring. Unless others have a clever way around this? I'm playing the solo from Like A Stone. Otherwise, I don't really whammy but if I had a decent xp pedal I'd probably use it for wah/vol too.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, there's not very many switched treadle style pedals out there besides the standard Vox/Crybaby style pedals. The Ernie Ball stereo/pan volume pedals have a side lever switch on the treadle and some Morley wahs have a stomp switch beside the treadle heel but those aren't really expression pedals unless they are modded. The Mission SP-1 is probably your easiest bet.

If you've got an old Crybaby or Vox wah lying around, you can swap out the pot and rewire it as an expression pedal if you're the DIY type. Dunlop sells a 10k linear pot that's a direct replacement for the standard Wah pot.

I have used that replacement and it's a great solution if you've got a busted or otherwise unused Dunlop/Crybaby Wah or (Volume pedal if you don't need a switch) collecting dust!

Only thing is that you'll also need to get 2 TRS jacks and remove the "guts".

Also to use the switch you might need to drill another hole in the chassis and get a jack for that, too (mono/TS) will work for that.

And for Fractal stuff, a momentary switch will work best although the latching one already in the Wah pedal.

Not sure how cost effective it is versus a used SP-1 at that point... :)

The Mission SP-1 also has a latching switch. You can use the SP1-RB (Roland Boss) if you want a momentary toe switch.
Yes, good call... I forgot about that.

I know some folks here have reported success with the RB version as well.

sorry, confused…would you not want a latching switch to turn on the wah/whammy block when you click it? If it was momentary would the block not switch off again when you release it? That’s what happens if I use an external momentary switch to turn on the whammy block…

Fractal devices can use either latching or momentary switches. Momentary switches can be made to function as latching switches with the Virtual Toggle feature, so you can have either momentary or latching functionality. Latching switches can only function as latching switches, so they are a little less flexible. For Wah/Whammy/Volume pedal switching, a latching switch will work just fine as you will likely not need momentary functionality there.

In other words, momentary switches give you more flexibility/options but latching can be simpler for basic toggling.

If you can find one, the Mission SP-2 is a 2-channel expression pedal. I have one and it works great for volume and wah. The SP-1 can be rewired to operate like the SP-2.
