Epiphone Casino Re-issues

Anyone have any experience with Chinese made Epiphone Casinos? I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on build quality, tone, and upgrades needed, if any, how they compare to earlier Korean made Casinos, etc.

Thanks

I don’t but I purchased a ~20 yr old john lennon with the special ser #. ...assembled in kalamzoo...must have been close to them closing the doors up there. I remember that there were a lot of cheap and falsely advertised casinos floating around...so please be careful.

What was important to me was period correct, build quality and regular old gibson p90s.
Anyway I love the casino...buy a good one! :)

I was looking at a Korean made one, from 1996, but the seller is not the greatest at communicating. If someone can’t bother to answer my questions, I really don’t want to deal with them.

I found another one, which is a 2010, made in China. The seller bought it new at Guitar Center, when he lived in N.Y. He said he owned one made in Korea, but preferred the feel and build quality of the Chinese made one. He said the stock P90’s were muddy and real hot, 12+ k, so he had them rewound by a luthier to specs. closer to the original P90’s, around 8 k and they sound really good now.

I’ve read lots of reviews about the Chinese made Casinos and they are all really positive.

Thanks for the reply!

I don't think they're bad at all- I've seen pros use Korea/China Casinos without issues- not many but a few.

The USA Lennons maybe 10-12 years ago were Gibson Custom Shops that said Epiphone and were all USA made
