WIKI and other posts when I searched indicates this preset was probably based on Counting Crows (makes sense), but I'm wondering if anyone out here might have some more specifics about which guitar player, which album it was originally based on? Just curious.

Always thought it was based off of 'Mr Jones'. Use a Gretsch to taste.

I think @FractalAudio created that preset in the days of the Axe-Fx Standard/Ultra.
It has since been translated and reborn across several platform evolutions.
I don't know if it was based on a specific song or album.
