I have the chance to go to his one-hour masterclass tonight before the ZPZ show.

Has anyone been to this? I'm sure it's worth it, but any thoughts? I'm always open to learning new techniques and thought processes, although I don't play his style of music...

For you Dweezil fans, he just came out with a new course on TrueFire called "Fretboard Freedom". He presents some interesting ways to connect the pentatonic scales along the neck and some picking patterns that go along with them. It's a pretty unique presentation on how to "get out of the box". He has another one coming up soon on "Phrase Generators" that also looks interesting. He is a very good teacher and you can check out his style by previewing these vids.

Funny, I never thought of DZ as a good source for originality when it comes to instruction stuffs (only a little familiar with him through his playing of Frank's stuff), but this looks pretty cool - especially the economy of motion parts. I'd say if you've got the opportunity, you should take it!
