Wish Double Tap for Foot Switches

One more vote for double tap... three functions per switch essentially giving us an FC-9 all in one!

If the FW has to wait a predefined amount of time to determine whether a double-click is incoming, could that make a single-click event sluggish?
It would do that. The software has to wait until the interval to receive the second tap expires before it can process what turned out to be the single tap. It's the tradeoff for additional functionality.

An alternate way to accomplish adding an alternate tap-function to a switch would be to create the concept of a caps-lock on the keyboard. One switch would be defined to "shift" the other switch functions to their alternate meaning, similar to pressing caps-lock, then pressing the key. It could even be defined that it can be engaged until the next switch is pressed, causing that switch's "shift-function" to be used, or, perhaps, with a long-press, the shift would switch to a "caps-lock" and all other switches would remain in their shifted-function state until it was pressed again.

We kinda have a similar ability currently, because we can tell the FC to reveal the hold functions for the switches.
