Do Stand-In switches have to be connected at boot time?

As per title, do the stand in switches have to be connected when the FC boots to operate correctly?
 
Nope, the FC doesn’t poll switch status or anything so doesn’t matter

Some products do so can tell if you have a normally open or closed switch and it will still work accordingly. On the FC you manually can revert polarity so it will always work right whenever you plug the switch in, booted up already or not
