Do any of you guys and gals like wound G Strings?

I've never tied one on - lol. My Anderson pro Am came strung with 10-46 which has a plain 17 G. I am currently restringing it with a set of 10-46, same gauges other than the G is an 18 wound.

What are your preference when it comes to G strings?

I've always loved wound g strings because I downtune really low (before I started buying extended range guitars I had a non baritone 6 string in drop G at one point.) and the wound string adds a lot of tuning stability. Personally, I also prefer the tone of the wound string usually, the difference is subtle but there.

I'm probably going to order some custom sets with wound g strings for my ERGs soon, cause I've been missing that feel.
 
Bought a pack of 11's with a wound G by mistake once. Wasn't as big a difference as I though they would be. But I use 12's on my acoustics so I was somewhat use to them.
 
I use custom 9-44 sets with a 17 gauge wound G. Stainless frets beat them up pretty fast but I prefer the feel and sound.
