Dizzy Blue 3 & 4

Stratoblaster

Fractal Fanatic
After tweaking some DynaCab IR's for live use, it was time to tour through all the amps in the AFX and I found a new favorite rock amp (which seems to always evolve in the Fractal platform heh), the Dizzy Blue V3/V4.

Blue V3 is great for those 70's rock/Marshall tones (but better heh), as is the Blue V4 for higher gain work/80's metal/modern/lead tones with both single coils and humbuckers. Nice, pleasing sizzle in the upper mids..fun to play.

The input gain controls have a lot of range and there is wide range of available gain in both V3 and V4 that you can dial back and they overdrive/clean up nicely, and when you dial the gain up the amps fatten up with rich, fat gainy goodness with plenty more available if you ever need it.

I get a nice 'push back' in the feel I really like from these amps, particularly for lead tones. The higher, single notes have 'weight' that a lot of rock/gainy amps can lack, and there is a 'clangy bark' on lower strings/chords (think playing the riff from UFO "Light's Out"...F# -> E kinda stuff...with some air moving) that I'm digging.

I did a blues/rock gig with my Strat and the V3 & V4 as my rock/lead amps and I was seriously feeling it; I have setup my HSS axe for a show next weekend to use them and can't wait....

I liked the Blue vs the Silver as I found it a bit warmer but could use the Silver too, no doubt.

Great amps...fun discovery...

I'm using the 4x12 Rumble EV12L/4x12 Rumble EV12S DynaCab (I can't remember exactly which one and am not near the FM9 to verifiy) for my rock/Dizzy tones...am using the Rumble/EV that's fuller in the low/low mids and less toppy. I'll have a look next time I fire the FM9 up and verify.

I'm also changing the Speaker Impedance Curve from #80 "4x12 Rumble" to #66 "4x12 Brit TV" on my HSS new presets and will likely follow suit to changing that for my Strat presets, but will experiment with that first.

One thing I like about these amps is the amount of headroom they offer, you have a usable Master Volume control that doesn't distort the power amp at 2. They are also quite loud and dynamic.

It pays to explore the different amps at our disposal from time to time. I gave these a try after reading your post. I’d have always thought Diezel amps were more for high gain metal tones.
Turns out they can indeed be be a great Marshall flavour alternative.
I’ve set up a Dizzy 2 preset which is similar but different (more presence, brighter but not in anyway harsh) than my go to EOB Brit JM45 preset which I’m liking and going to try out at decent volumes at my next rehearsal.

I used the Dizzy V2, V3, and V4 for the first time live at a show last night and man did they rock! We had a substitute bass player who is quite experienced and busy around town and he said "love your live tones man, wow".

You can definitely get a great Marshall type tone from them, for sure. I also dialed up a bluesy, EoB tone the the V2 as well and it was very sweet with single coils.

These amps ain't going anywhere anytime soon for me...
