As much as he’s known as a Strat player, I think Knopfler recorded that on a Les Paul. Try the bridge pickup.

True. As I understand it, he used a Les Paul with both pickups running and out of phase.

I had updated the firmware but not the factory presets...
This Money for Something is outstanding! Might be slightly missing a bit of harmonics but I guess this very much depends on the guitar as well, but seriously the gain is perfect, and yes THIS IS THE TONE!!! So much better than mine (and I was already pretty happy with what I had tweaked). Just got the time to try it with my Ibanez JS, tomorrow I plug the Les Paul R8!!!
