Digitech Freqout or Sustainiac - Thoughts?

Maybe cannibalize the Sustain-Man gadget I mentioned above, or talk to them about buying some of their parts.
They have specialized electronics for this purpose too.

Attaching it to the trem block may work better than their standard headstock mount, and not having wires and extra weight hanging off the headstock is a definite plus.

I use the freqout. One has to be careful with how they bend strings or the pedal may go bonkers and sound like some kind of broken robot. Even some vibrato can throw it off, at times, depending on how wild it is.

And you must also bear in mind that sliding downwards as you end lead phrases (which a lot of people do) and the result is a bit like using a whammy pedal -- not ideal for me.

All that said...once you learn the ins and outs of the unit, in what instances it's less likely to freak out (no pun), and how to work around such cases, it can be a very useful tool.

It's one of those pedals that I don't wanna be without, even if i don't use it all the time. But it's certainly a different tool than the sustainiac.

I am getting crazy amounts of killer harmonic feedback with the FM3
into the FX Return of a tube amp at rehearsal. So FUN!
