Different wahs.

So how would I go about finding the differences between some wah sound I like the Cantrell wah the Hammett wah and the dime all for different reasons. What should I look at changing in the wah parameters to achieve these sounds.

I've honestly found it best to just use your ears rather than trying to dial in some specs of some frequency response graph online

The Cantrell wah is a bit lower frequency with not to much highs (especially if you roll them back with the knob on the pedal) so just start the wah lower and limit the sweep. Kirks wah sound is kind of thinner and nasal so made it more of a high range sweep.

End goal should be about finding YOUR ideal wah sound, not matching a pedal.

Its basically what those guys all got to do, they got to play a wah, and say "hmmm, I'd like a wider sweep" or "I'd like more lows" and Dunlop would make some adjustments til they liked it, then slap their name on it and give them some royalty checks.

You've got that same ability with the Axe, pick a sound you like, adjust it until its how you've always wanted a wah to sound in your head
