Difference between FAS Express and FAS Wreck?

The FAS Express model obviously is based on the Trainwreck Express.

What’s the FAS Wreck model based on, or is it an idealized “generic” Trainwreck model?

Do both models have the “blocking distortion fixes”?

It could be one of those things were one is based on the actual schematic and the other is based off on "ear." This is a good question though.

My understanding (though I suspect you would know better) is that the FAS Wreck was the original Trainwreck (Express) model from one of the prior Axe products. The Express was then subsequently re-modeled (perhaps a different reference amp), and an idealized version, the FAS Express was also added.

I rather enjoy the FAS Express.

Yes I think the FAS models of all real amps are designed to address the short comings and be better than the real amp itself.


off topic, but is FAS skull crusher based on any particular amp? What was the primary inspiration.
