So in the Axe, the Dirty Shirley has long been fav Friedman amp, just have never been able to get the BE/HBE where I want them...always something there I don't like. Well, having played the SmallBox 50 in "real life" a few times, I was very excited to see it added to the Axe, and it has since become my fav Friedman in the box. Had a little time in the GC platinum room here in Nashville yesterday and put all those amps through their paces with their respective cabs. Not surprisingly, results were the same, lol. Smallbox, Dirty Shirley, BE...in that order. I know we don't have those exact cabs in the Axe but thought it was cool/interesting that the Axe mirrors my "real world" tastes so accurately.
If I remember correctly, just for infos sake the Smallbox 212 cab has V30's, Dirty Shirley has G12M65 Creambacks and the BE 412 is a mix of G12M25's and V30's.
