Delay volume question

I'm trying to create a sound where the delay sound is as loud as, if not louder, than the main guitar signal.

I've tried raising the mix on the delay block, but naturally going past 50% makes the guitar quieter, which I don't want.

I'm probably being completely stupid, but I'm struggling to figure out how to do it.

Any tips?
 
Probably not explaining myself well here!

An example is the into to She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult - that sort of delay is what I'm looking for.
