Legacy Def Enough?

Did a short clip of a Def Leppard patch I'm working on. Not the best backing track, but it's all I could find. Not quite there, any suggestions?

You're right... that backing track sucks. :lol

Sounds pretty good... but like you said, not quite there. I'm not sure what's missing though, so I'm of absolutely no help. If you post the preset, I'll see if I can do some tweaking on it too. If you're ok with that. :mrgreen

Maybe needs more presence. I used to think they used alot of delay/chorus, but when I listen through headphones, I don't hear that much. I'll post the patch later, but want to make a couple of tweaks first. Feel free to add anything that makes it better and repost it.

Am I losin my mind or is the guitar out of tune with the vocals? Tell your vocalist I think he's a half step off. :)

Yeah, it's a backing track that was done at a lower tuning. I tried to bring it up to match standard tuning, but something got hosed up in the process. It was a rush job, I should probably redo that.

In Phil's rack he has an Alesis Midiverb II, a Marshal JMP-1 Valve Midi pre-amp, a TC1210 Spatial Expander + Stereo Chorus/Flanger, and a TC Electronics D-Two effects unit. I don't know what he's using for this particular tune, but for Foolin', the patch on the D-Two is using a 555 ms delay. The LFO Settings on the TC1210 are set to roughly .4 speed, 1.75 width out of 6 max. I can't tell what the delay is set to, but it's like 5 or 6 out of 6 I think. He also has a Palmer Speaker Simulator PDI-03 and a Mesa 20/20 Dyna-Watt power amp. I'm not sure if he had sustainers in his guitars when he did the song, but if he did, that would make a difference as well. Plus he uses 13's on his guitars. Dunno if any of that helps in the least, but there you go.

Cool, thanks for the info. Was he using that much delay on the album? If he was, it must have been a very low mix level, or I'm going def.

Dunno, but it's what he uses for the song as it stands in his rig. I got all this info from a very recent video interview with him where he went over all his guitars and his rack. I have it saved in high def, so I was able to pause the video as they went down his rack to get the info.
