Decent Synth sounds

Can anyone get a decent sound from the synth block?

I have a Boss Sy300 and was hoping to get somewhere close to that but failing miserably.

All Ive managed to get is badly tracked single notes with even worse chord sounds.

Has anyone got a good preset they can share??

there patches are all for the II, but i think they can be converted with fractool

the trick is to feed the synth block with a strong consistent signal. i usually use a compressor and a drive block. it's also how you process the synth signal that makes a huge difference. using multiple voices that are slightly detuned will also give great results. some knowledge of subtractive synthesis is also helpful to get the most out of it.

I seem to recall that applying a filter or EQ that reduces the higher frequencies prior to the Synth input helps, too... Not sure if you do that or maybe the Drive block already is doing some of that?

Setting the noise gate threshold high helps a lot with tracking also. Finger noise triggers false notes and you can get rid of most that way.

Neck pickup and good technique also helps.
