I'd made an assumption about the onboard DSP on these dB Tech monitors that I shouldn't have. It has 8 presets, but they really are pre-set.
On the PXM-12MP's I have, in addition to several starting points akin to the presets the FMX10's have you also have 5 user-programmable slots, and those can store your own EQ settings. That is proving really useful to me, even more so than the "monitor" and "FOH" settings are by themselves.
I have them. They sound very good but compared to the Xitone that I have as well they have a bit more bass and the high end is not as clear, also lacks a bit of presence. But all is tweakable with an eq.
