Crunch parameter?

For real though ... it'd be nice to know what this is actually altering!

Obviously Cliff doesn't want to say so as not to give away some of the G3 magic. Understood.

On a Plexi it seems like it adds more sponginess than crunch. Turning it up on a lead tone can make the upper midrange soften after the initial attack (very cool). IMHO. YMMV. Yada yada.

I'm sure the OP was just expecting a more lab coat type answer. No need to gang up on him. sheesh. We usually get such detailed explanations for every little parameter on the AXE FX. Although from a non-science point of view it does seem to increase crunchiness with higher values, and decrease it with lower values. I believe it sets the specs for the in-line of the rotary .girder...I'm retarded.

crunch is a quality of distortion.

also a tasty new treat from Taco Bell:

There is quite a change in the way the amp's distortion decays when adding loads of crunch. Set the Crunch dial to 100 and you get uber-crunch, very saturated especially on the decay.
