Two fans of the size in the Carvin are not going to be silent, unless they are not moving any air. Even the quietest fans of this size are not silent. My DCML is not much louder than the Axe II, if at all. With large wattage SS amps, it's something that's not uncommon unless the heatsinks are huge (which would make the amp huge). While the Carvin fans could possibly be replaced with quieter units, I don't consider them unacceptable, unless you're using the amps in a studio environment.
