Not a Bug Crackling when turning output knob?

Hi! I just joined the axe family along with the recent December sales!

Still got lots to figure out about this insane unit. But, I’ve noticed that when I hold out a note or a chord whilst turning the output 1 knob (still just using phones jack to my headphones, no studio monitors available yet) I’ve noticed some crackling as I turn it but it stops once I’ve adjusted the volume.

Is this normal behavior? It doesn’t crackle when I don’t hold out any note or chord as I tur the knob. Thanks for your input!
 
From the manual (Page 15 on my copy, section 3.1 Setting Levels):

Note: The Axe-Fx II uses digital potentiometers to adjust output levels. These actually contain hundreds of tiny resistors and switches. As such, some noise may be generated while adjusting the knobs.
