Connection of AX8 with 4cm and Studio Monitors

Those are 2 completely different setups. Are you turning amp and cab sims on and off between the 2 setups? I don’t think there is an easy way to have all of that connected at the same time. 4CM typically uses up all the inputs and outputs available. You’ll probably have to completely disconnect one method to connect the other.
 
The only thing you could somewhat try is if you just want to use your amp's preamp and then add a cab sim to that.
 
It would require an audio interface which I'm guessing you already have. Leave the amp in the 4CM setup and run an XLR from OUT 1 MAIN to the interface. As has already been alluded to, you will more than likely need completely different presets.
 
You should be able to do this without any problem so long as you don’t need to run both the studio monitors and the amp at the same time. You would just connect it using the normal 4CM method and send the XLRs to the studio monitors and the 1/4 outs to the amp FX return. To switch between the amp and studio monitors just turn the amp volume down and the studio monitors up and bypass the internal cab and amp block.
If you are running mono you could switch with just a button press by hard panning the cab hard left and the clean signal hard right and panning between them.
 
Not trying to be a smart ass but... Wouldn't it just be easier to get an FX8 and have the two separate rigs?
