Compressor into Slow Gear effect

I really like the "slow gear" type effect that I've been able to use in the Axe. I tend to use a compressor in the front of my chain for solo sustain in other applications/scenes.

Is there any real benefit to using a compressor in front of the "slow gear" volume effect block? Will the slow gear attack effect or attack cutoff be more pronounced? (other than just trying it myself, I'm looking for guidance)
