Community testing of parameters w/o modifiers (using AE 1.06.01)

Since Axe-Edit 1.06.01 handily allowed attaching modifiers to almost any parameter, there's been a hope that most (or at least more) parameters would be allowed to be modified. Cliff said that he's limited the number of modifiable parameters due to possible artifacts or issues, which makes sense. He also said it's easy to turn it on if desired as long as their are no artifacts or issues.

Using 1.06.01, I (with help of @Joe Bfstplk) systematically went through every currently non-modifiable parameter in both the AMP and CAB blocks and tested them for "artifacts" or glitches outside of expected effects of changing that parameter via a dial. I posted two wish list threads for the AMP block and CAB block based on this work and the resulting spreadsheet.

This thread is to encourage FAS user community to test other blocks and their parameters for artifacts when a modifier is attached. Proceed below if you are interested...

I tested each parameter with two modifier sources: (1) an LFO and (2) an expression pedal (sweeping multiple times slowly and quickly) to determine if there were any non-expected "artifacts" or glitches. Artifacts can occur such as static, hum, clicking, thumping, or a crash. Attached is a google sheet to gather modifier testing results for blocks and parameters.

If you want to contribute to testing modifiers (even if one or a few of your favorite parameters) here are the suggested steps:
  1. Launch Axe-Edit 1.06.01 (Downloads: Mac AE 1.06.01, Win AE 1.06.01)
  2. Go to the shared Google sheet: AF3 Modifier Artifacts by Block-Parameter
  3. Make a new tab for the block you will be testing:
    • Copy the Template tab to the same spreadsheet
    • Rename the new tab to the block you are working on
  4. Find a parameter you want to test that doesn't have the modifier capability (doesn't have a yellow open dot)
    • Attach a few different modifiers (e.g. LFO1 and expression pedal) via right clicking on the dial in AE and listen both with and w/o an input signal. Some artifacts are expected especially with discrete parameters/switches.
    • In your tab, enter one row per parameter as you go and note any artifacts or issues (see AMP tab or CAB tab for examples)
  5. Note if you plans to contribute and what you ended up doing in this thread.
  6. Once a block is more-or-less complete, someone an post a Wish list thread for your block and with the link to the block tab in the Google sheet.
If you have any questions, issues, or other suggestions to improve the process or the Google sheet, post here or PM me.

Thanks!

FracPad allows modifiers attaching to every parameter now, optionnally and at your own risk of course

Assuming this includes Manual controllers, each of these could used to combine two sources, with a final target parameter having 3 or 4 actual sources (one or both being a 2-source Manual controller). If chaining manual modifiers works, you could actually get 7 sources affecting one parameter.

Or just use manuals to change the response of individual sources before applying to the target. Scene controllers, (stopped) LFOs and (stopped) sequencer step #1 value could also be used like extra manual controllers for this type of thing.
