Clutch Guitar Tone?

Hey all.

I'm making some decent progress with the AFX. I've got Metal tones that I dig and a couple of lovely cleans.

What I'd really like is a kickass rock sound like what Clutch has here:

I've never really had a Marshall sorta amp to fuck with so I've got no idea how to dial something like that in. Any and all suggestions for amps\cabs would be awesome :)

I do a lot of Clutch and tend to use the Plexi's (50 and 100 watt). They are pretty much spot on. If you want it close, run one of these amps and do a tonematch!

Sorry for the double post, but here's a good example of his guitar solo'd

First off nothing against Clutch, but man... that guys' posture is atrocious!!

Second, that tone in the second video is easily attainable with the AFX. Have you tried the BRIT 800 with a 4x12 Recto V30 (OH) combo? That would get you close to the tone you want I would imagine.

The first video sounds like some studio post-production magic on the tone IMO. You could tone match like jbis stated for a deeper tone.

I typically watch those videos then try what I can with the Wiki pages:
