What do you think that the Axe FX has done for the guitarist's carbon footprint? There's obvious potential reductions in amps, valves and electricity.
 
I'd suggest that any reductions have been offset by the proliferation of smoking chops

Definite potential for energy savings but while valves are "dirty", integrated circuits have their own negative environmental impact. While my AxeFx-based rig has enabled me to get by with a smaller car (soon to be purchased), the biggest impact might be in saving UPS trucks from carting new gear to my door. ;)
