Tom Hanks <- Performance of his career - I was emotionally floored. What a fantastic movie.

Did you see it? If not - it is a must see.
 
Who's this Tom Hanks fellow? Is he a good actor?

I haven't seen it yet and I don't get all worked up over movies, but I keep hearing that this is the performance of his career. That's a pretty damn tall order and some lofty praise.
 
I would take the story though with a grain of salt. From all reports so far the movie strays far from actual fact and in reality several of the real crew members have an ongoing lawsuit against the real Capt, Phillips for endangering their lives. There is also an ongoing investigation into $30,000.00 ransom money that was never found.
 
Accurate... Inaccurate... I have no idea. But I'll agree that Tom Hanks put in a GREAT performance. There are some extremely tense moments in the movie.
