Can't manually enter values on some parameters?

Why is it that on some parameters you can't manually enter in values?
What I mean is that on some parameters you can click on the number value and type in your new setting, whereas on others you have to turn the dial with the mouse. I find this annoying and I'm not sure what the logic behind this is?

Are you referring specifically to the values in the Modifier pop up screen? Those are dial only, can't type.

What others have you found that you can't type?

I agree it would be very nice to be able to adjust those modifier parameters more precise.
