Can you A/B between two amps with scenes?

I've been thinking about using one amp for clean, and another for gain type stuff. If I run out Left Pre Out to the clean amp, and Right Pre Out to the gain amp, is there a way to switch back and forth between the two amps with scenes? I don't want to have both amps playing at the same time, and I'd like to avoid having to introduce a midi controllable A/B box.

I was thinking there may be a block that I can pan differently using x/y. Maybe to the left for x, and to the right for y.

the tremolo / pan block at the end of your pre chain should work. use a scene controller to switch between hard left and hard right.
 
So I tried the following an it worked:

I put the vol/pan block right before the Pre out. I then used a scene controller to pan between left and right. Worked perfectly.

Scene 1 is panned fully right, and goes to the clean amp
Scene 2 is panned fully left and goes to the gain amp.

Today I truly realized the power of scene controllers.
 
Could you not just have scene 1 use an amp assigned to Amp block X and then scene 2 using the Y assignment?
