Cab-Lab 3 Emergency Assistance

Cab Lab 1 was released over 2 years after the Axe FX II.

With the release of the Axe-Fx II in May 2011, Fractal discontinued the Standard and Ultra models.

And?

I only ever installed Cab Lab Lite because as far as I know, that was the official way to convert WAV to syx IRs.

And, even back when I got my Axe Fx II in 2013, there was not an officially supported editor... So, using the Axe-Edit 3 for that would not have been possible, either at that time.

I believe there was another tool before that for conversion... AxeOMatic?

...and cab lab had nothing to do with loading IRs into the II in the early days. It didn't exist yet. I never said Axe Edit was used either, did I. I used Snoise or something like that for firmware updates, etc. Ir's I bought back then had folders that had the right format for different modelers including Fractal so there was no conversion involved. I got my II in the initial run in 2011.

Ok, so what was the point of your first reply? Maybe I'm missing it?

Did Axe-Edit 3 convert WAV to IR?

That was what the post of mine that you replied to was about. I was saying that I don't think the editor converts WAVs...

Edit:

Also, I said to use Cab-Lab to convert, nothing about loading...

Really? I don't believe that worked for Axe Fx II.

You needed to use Cab-Lab Lite at a minimum to convert them first.

CabLab is not needed to import a .wav IR to an AxeFX II. I just imported .wav IR's to an Axe-FX II today with Axe-Edit II. Or do I misunderstand what you’re saying?

Yes, that's what I was asking about.

I'm not why I ever needed Cab-Lab Lite? The whole reason it existed was for conversion.

Maybe it got added to the editor later?

FYI - it's Axe-Edit 3 for Axe Fx II... Odd but true. Although it's Axe-Edit III for Axe Fx III ;)

Anyway... Enough ancient history for one day :D

Hello, I am using Ax8, Cab-lab 3 is no longer available, can you help me how to install the cabins I have purchased?
Ignore all the noise in this thread. All you need is Ax8 Edit which, since December 16, 2016, has been able to convert wav to six files. No need for CabLab unless you want to mix IRs.

Release 1.7.0 December 16, 2016

=============================================

REQUIRES AX8 Firmware Quantum 6.00 or newer.

New Features:

1. Added new page “Scenes” to the OUTPUT and FX LOOP blocks. This page displays the MAIN level for each of the scenes. The original page “Output” and “FX Loop” only showed the MAIN level for the selected scene.

2. AxeManage::CABS now supports the importing of .wav IR files. WAV files must be imported using the Browser window. Importing a stereo WAV file will produce two entries in the Browser, one entry for the left and one entry for the right channel.

Is not the advantage with Cab Lab that you can mix more IRs, adjust each IRs level, and save as a custom new IRs? VS with AX8-Edit you can only mix two?

My post was strictly referring to converting wav to syx files. Nothing else. If you need to mix more than 2 cab IRs, CabLab is the way to go.
