Cab Block "Input" Parameter Setting

I have been looking at the Cab Block and noticed a parameter called "Input" that can be set to Left, Right, Stereo, or Sum Left+Right. In noticed patches that I've obtained from others vary with most either being "Left" or "Stereo". I have started modifying most of the patches to "Sum Left+Right", as they sound more realistic to my ear... Can anyone comment on why one would choose one setting verses the other? Thanks.

Choose to preserve stereo data/blocks before the Cab block or to sum them. That’s mostly it. The Amp block tends to sum those anyway, so those options shouldn’t affect most presets as the Cab immediate follows the Amp most of the time.

I don’t recall if Sum makes it louder, which you may be perceiving as better or more realistic.
