Cab block help.

Hi,

I'm struggling to understand the cab block. Specifically the Level Control.

If I've got 2/3/4 amp blocks in my Cab Block, when I turn them all down to -40db, the volume doesn't drop much and I'm still getting lots of guitar coming through.

Why is this? Where's the guitar coming from? Am I wrong in thinking that -40 should mean a BIG drop in volume?

Cab level adjustments are relative to one another. If you reduce them all by the same amount, there will be no change. The manual has a very well written explanation of this behavior.

Yyz67 beat me to it, but use the output level of the block to adjust overall volume once you get the cabs mixed to your satisfaction.

And there is an overall Level control for the Cab block that is independent of the relative gain controls on the first page.

For equal contribution from all cabs, set all to 0 dB. Thus for two cabs, each will contribute 50% while with four cabs each will contribute 25%.

-6 dB effectively cuts that particular cab's contribution to 1/3 compared to a cab at 0 dB (2/3).
