Bug? Wah auto-engage with Slow Pos and Update Rate Fast never engages

Using these settings, the Wah will never engage no matter how long I hold it in position. If I change Auto Engage to Med Pos or Fast Pos it works fine, similarly if I change Update Rate to Medium or Slow.
