Blue mofis loudness

i got myself a pair of blue mofi headphones to use with my ax8, and a Y cable to stereo. Now I've read a bunch of threads that talked about the AX8 being underpowered for some headphones which is part of the reason I chose the mofis. Well these things are so loud I literally have to turn the output on the ax8 completely off and it's still so loud I have to turn the mofis to passive mode. I checked my preset and it's right in the sweet spot of the vu meter so I'm kinda tripping. Do I have a defective set that has too much gain or something?

Have you got the pre-amp on in the mofi's?

I had to turn it off because it was too loud to use with it on

Sorry, I just re-read your post and you do say they're in passive mode. I've not had any problems with mine with the Axe-FX, but have yet to receive my AX8 to run a comparison. Hopefully someone here has both and can compare for you.

Yeah, they're very loud. I use mine in passive mode because they're too loud otherwise.

I just need the adapter, and I'll chime in. I might have one somewhere... Curious to see for myself, for sure.
