Best Way On with Fractal Block to simulate an octive pedal?

You can use the Virtual Capo to drop the pitch an octave, or you can use the Octave Distortion drive for a vintage-type octaver. Is that what you mean, or is this a trick question? :).

not a trick question. What is a 'virtual capo' ?
A mode in the Pitch block: https://wiki.fractalaudio.com/wiki/index.php?title=Pitch_block#Drop-tuning_and_virtual_capo

I use Octaver setting. I think it sounds more "octave down pedal" authentic, personally. See this preset: https://axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=6499 -- there should be a "Space Funk" or "Space" scene in there that's a mu-tron + octave down + overdrive sound you can study to get some ideas.

The pitch block has several settings. One of them is called the Virtual Capo. At 100% mix, it acts like a capo, either up or down. If you adjust the mix to blend the original with the affected pitch, and at 12 tones up, it can act like a 12-string, and at 12 tones down, it can act like a bass + guitar.
