Best $20....

So how comes everybody hated the Gibson robo tuners ?

Guess I'm not "everybody" - but I've never tried them. I did try some early version of the Tronical tuners a long time ago - which didn't impress me at the time.

But even if I liked the robo tuners I'm not gonna replace the tuners on my 20+ guitars :D
And I'm not gonna buy 20+ robotuner equipped Les Pauls - cause I mainly play strat-type guitars. :p

There a Roadie Tuner 2 seems more appropriate ... price-wise anyway.

I'm still on the fence thou.

At some point any guitar player should be capable of doing a quick retuning on the spot without looking at any tuners...

Because guitarists are ultra conservative when it comes to their gear. Most still believe that Fender and Gibson got it right at once in the 50's and any changes ever since have only been for the worse. And Gibson's client base is so staunchly conservative they haven't even discovered fire yet.

Or......, robot tuners might have been nice as an option, not as a standard feature. Maybe they are not as good as intended and then you're stuck with something that's not so good that you've never wanted.
