Balanced cables,is there any benefit to using a short cable?

In a few moments I'm off to pick up my Atomic FR. Since my Axe-Fx Standard + Atomic FR setup will be in close proximity, stacked, is there any benefit in using a short balanced XLR cable to connect them? All I've got at home right now are 6 meter long XLR cables so would there be any reason to cut one of those into say, 1-2 meter cable to connect the devices?

Can't say whether the benefit is specific with XLR on anything under 20ft however there are cable situations where it is beneficial, guitar, mic, etc. I like to trim to fit due to messes and tangles if for no other reason.

Shorter cables are always better, because of cable capacitance. However the difference between 6 feet and 2 feet would be negligible.
