Backup Faster!

Somehow even though I've been here and pretty active for a long time, I had never heard this tip for speeding up backups.

Here's a section of quotes for reference:

Put your III on an empty preset and it’ll be fine before you can even get the beans ground.
Is this some hidden arcane secret? You're saying that a full backup is faster if you have an empty preset loaded when you start?
I think it's a known fact ;)
Indeed. Has been documented in the wiki for years.
Wow... Somehow I've never heard of this!

@yek do you have wiki link reference? Would be useful to others, too :)

Edit:

Nevermind - here is the link:

Awesome! I never knew about this, and my backups all take about 3-4 minutes to complete cos my main preset is just tickling 80%! How the heck am I going to make my coffee whilst I backup now!? :fearscream:

Yes, i even don't know why FractalBot doesn't send an empty preset before backing up then ask for a recall... Automatic speedup

While backing up, if the current preset has been edited (not yet saved), after backing up would FB be able recall the unsaved one or only the stored one?

The stored system one...

But launching a backup while a preset is unsaved is crazy
