Backlight of our displays

Has anyone noticed that the display has an uneven black color? Highlights on the right and left along the edges of the screen are clearly visible. Naturally, this doesn’t naturally affect, but I wonder if I have one?

This is called 'backlight bleeding' and is a side-effect of how LCD screens work. It shouldn't be too noticeable most of the time. Is usually more of an issue with TV's or computer monitors as these are used for critical viewing. Should not really cause too much issue with a small screen looked at occassionally for settings readouts, but YMMV. If it is REALLY bad there could be a problem with the screen.
