AX8 replacing GCP Pro used to control multiple GCX units?

Is it possible for me to ditch my Voodoo lab ground control pro and use my Axe8 as a midi controller / gcx loop changer? I have 2 amp / rack setups I use live being controlled by a gcp pro but want to add the Ax8 to the mix and hopefully do away with the gcp pro all together. I sequence program changes to the gcp pro at the moment. The gcp pro then sends out all rig changes. I would need to be able to do this with the Ax8.

Rig 1 has a splawn / g major 2 / gcx / voodoo lab control switcher / midi guitar synth / pedals.

Rig 2 has a mesa dual rec / g major 2 / gcx / pedals.

The only MIDI output capability that the AX8 has is one program change message on a specified channel, per scene. That gives you 8 PCs per preset.

Can you use the ax8 to trigger the mc6 which then changes other midi devices? In effect, hitting one button on the ax8 then the mc6 does the rest?

Still the case; the AX8 can transmit 1 MIDI PC per scene. No CC.

Would something like this work? I have one and honestly never tried it sadly. It’s buried somewhere on a pile of gear around the house.
