Axe II MKI LCD screen contrast

On my II, when the LCD Contrast slider is dead centre, the display is mostly all washed out.
From anything left of centre it's completely washed out.
In order to get useful visible contrast, I have to have the slider all the way to the right.
And even with maximum contrast, when I'm viewing the display off-axis it's all washed out.

Is this normal?
I don't recall it being this weird when I first bought it but I haven't really been paying it much attention.

If this is not normal, then can it likely be fixed by just opening the unit up and reseating a ribbon cable?
Or will it need service?

Fixed.
It *was* the ribbon cable.
Duh.

Any admins feel free to delete this thread.
[Didn't there used to be a way that we posters could do this ourselves?]

Sorry to revive such an old thread but...
How bad would Crazy Glue be compared to the glue gun?
I'm sick of opening the case up for this.
Don't have a glue gun.

Have you cleaned it with elec connector contact cleaner (power off etc)?

You can also gently reposition the pins a tiny bit, if for some reason the connector is getting loose, assuming you know what you're doing in there etc?

This time I sprayed some compressed in there plus some DeOxit.
Bending the pins a bit is a decent idea.
Might try that next time, and there will be a next time.
Thanks.
Crazy Glue is a bad idea, I know.
