Axe-Fx Xl displaying weird values

MisterE

Fractal Fanatic
I noticed my Axe-Fx sometimes displays weird values:
Pitch block Y was programmed as "INTEL HARM" but when activating it it shows "TREMOLO"
When switching between X and Y it goes back to "INTEL HARM"

Scale "2.1 dB"
track mode "0.0"

So far I only noticed this in the Pitch block.

Synth2 block (global)
Level shows 64.6% - Axe Edit: -16.0dB
Synth1 block (global)
Level shows 100% - Axe Edit: -16.0dB

This is a major issue and I would like it to be solved ASAP.
Yesterday at a gig I couldn't change a lot of the parameters I needed.
These included block levels of the synths and volume/pan.
I use the volume/pan to adjust my boost for leads.
By making it global, I only have to adjust it once and it's set for all presets.
I couldn't adjust it so that was a big issue for me.

Are you saying this an Axe-Edit issue? If so, you need to post that in the proper forum.

No it isn't.
I wasn't using Axe-edit.
When I'm using Axe Edit, it displays the correct values but the Axe-Fx Xl does not.
Even when I'm not using Axe Edit, the wrong values are displayed on the XL.

Synth2 block (global)
Level shows 64.6% - Axe Edit: -16.0dB
Synth1 block (global)
Level shows 100% - Axe Edit: -16.0dB

Correction: both synth blocks are not global blocks.
And I'm an idiot.
in my haste I looked at theVoice1 Page 2 and that's the Voice level and it's in %.
So that's cleared up.

Synth blocks are OK.

I'll check the rest of the blocks to see if there are any other parameters that don't match AE.

I just checked the Pitch block and all seems fine now.
Could it be that a disturbance of the Midi signal can do this?
I'm sending quite a lot of data:
This is my patch message:

Pitch block acting up again
modifier is attached to key in the Y state (Intel harm)
when switching to the X state (fixed harm) the modifier is attached to the voice 1 detune

the only way to reset it, is to select the voice 1 shift and hit enter to edit the modifier and exit it again.
The strange thing is that when I exit the edit of the voice 1 shift, the voice 2 level is selected. it's like something is shifting the modifiers.

When I switch from Y to X the modifiers in the X block are shifted two positions down.

I've done this with no pedal connected and without AE running or USB connected.
This is purely an Axe-Fx problem

Select Pitch 2 Y
Pitch%20%281%29.JPG

Modifiers attached to key, voice1 & voice2
Next select X
Pitch%20%282%29.JPG

Modifiers should be attached to voice1 shift & voice shift 2
Instead they are attached to voice1 detune, voice 2 level and voice 1 pan.
it seems they've retained the relative position of the Y- modifiers.

next select the second modifier to edit:
Pitch%20%283%29.JPG

You can see the value. it moves when sending a CC command.

Next exit the edit:
Pitch%20%284%29.JPG

The modifiers are shown where they should be.

next switch back to the Y state:

Pitch%20%285%29.JPG

Modifiers are not attached to key, voice1 & voice2 but to track mode and tracking. Again the relative position of the X state.
Select one to edit:
Pitch%20%286%29.JPG

Exit and they are back where they should be:

I loaded the block, and I can confirm that the display on the hardware doesn't match the display in AE.
I'll file a bug report.

Not sure whether it's the hardware, AE or maybe a corrupt Pitch block.

Still not resolved.
Noticed it on several other blocks as well.
First parameters on a page were set to minimum value.
When switching between X-Y-X the correct values were displayed again.

My guess would be a corrupt patch or block(s). I'd suggest take snapshots, backup your banks (always a good idea regardless), identify the bad patches, reinstall the firmware, and rebuild the bad patches. You can use your snapshots as a reference.

I don't want to guess.
I want a solution from FAS.
Blocks shouldn't become corrupt.
If so, why does this happen?
I'll have to rebuild all my global blocks and make my presets again.
The reason I bought the Xl was to avoid this.
