The UltraRes IRs in this pack are provided in formats compatible with both the Axe-Fx II (Original, Mark II) and Axe-Fx II XL. Please use only the files corresponding to your hardware type.

What Ultra Res Format is used in the XL...? What are the differences ? I think I remember seeing an explanation somewhere but I can't find it ....
 
The XL has a different sysex model ID therefore it requires its own sysex files. Also, the XL supports 512 user cab slots so there is an extra byte to support that. The data is otherwise identical.
