I was curious to see how my Axe rig stacked up to my JCM2000 DSL50. The conclusion is, quite favorably, and in my opinion much preferred over the DSL50. Below are a few short clips.

Equipment used:
Orville Les Paul
Marshall JCM2000 DSL50
Axe-Fx -> Carvin TS100
Marshall 4x12 with EVM12L close miced by SM57

The preset I use is the Bogner Ecstacy red and blue models.

Funny you put this up,I've been looking into buying a dsl 2000. I think both tones sound great.

If the first is the Axe i find the high end a little bit ice picky. How is set the presence button on the carvin ts100?

The first half of the clips sound a lot better to me.
The second half sounds thin and weak, sounds like there's no low mids at all.

Thanks for taking out the time to do the clips man. Good stuff. AxeFx does sound better although it could sound a whole lot better than it does in these clips.
