Axe-FX NAME TIMEOUT!!!

Yes I know, you guys are thinking that's just another newbie making the same mistakes!

Everything is fine when I connect Axe-II 14.02 with MFC MK1 3.03 with ethernet cable.
But i get the timeout message when using the Faslink adapters. XA-1 and XA-2 are respectively connected to the Axe and to the MFC.
Any suggestion of what to modify?

On MFC under edit->midi make sure you have it set to FASLink for XLR, Expansion for Ethernet, or Midi for Midi.

On the MFC101 mk1 you don't have Faslink in the menu, I use expansion. Maybe the culprit is here?

Are you up to date firmware wise? I would imagine that is the issue.

I am sorry you said you were, Um, I have a mk3 so I am not sure, to be honest.

It was a faulty ethernet cable... This bugged one works only one way, I turned it upside down and it works... I highly recommend Ethercon adapter and cables, because the regular ethernet plugs suffers often from loose connections and bad contact.

Well..., Regular ethernet plugs (RJ45 connectors) put on correctly will NOT be loose or have bad connections on the cat 5 cable. I know because I install them on cat 5 & 6 for network drops at work... ride:

Chances are it was just a defective cable out of the bag.

I never felt very confident with ethernet plugs on my Fractal rig, I'm glad FAS link exist now.
