    Hi there, newbie here,
I wanted to add the axe fx midi controller port into my DAW, I was hoping to send midi messages to the axe.
If I have the axe midi in and out connected though, the DAW won't allow me to access that midi port. If the midi adapter was connected to a keyboard, it would let me access it.

    Is that normal?
    Thanks!
    Jono

if i remember correctly, the Axe-Fx ultra really doesn't "connect" to the computer in anyway. it's all up to the USB-MIDI interface for communication.

so it's either that or the DAW causing the issue most likely.

Perhaps what I should've said is I want to connect to the axe-edit through a midi track in my DAW.
I saw a video of someone sending patch changes, wah wah envelopes etc. to it from their DAW.
But the midi driver/port is locked. If I unplugged the midi from the axe fx, the midi port does allow me to load it.
Perhaps I'm trying this in the wrong way?
