Axe-Fx III with MFC-101 (basic setting)

I had Mode set to None, same as when I was programming at home.
Will set up again at home tonight. We have a big show on Sat. so I'm
hoping to get it functional for that. A bit nervous. I'll have my Axe II as
a backup, but the MFC will be useless with II using the new setup, unless
I drag along a laptop to reload in case of emergency. As long as I can
flip between a few presets, I should be ok. Nothing fancy.
I'm going to keep the III on a stand next to me so I can activate the Tuner
manually if need be, or just use the Mini Tuner arrows.

If I can't get it stable by Sat., I'll reload the Axe II config into the MFC and
just use the II instead it as I have been for quite a while. But the III sounds
so good, I really wanted to get it running. Big PA & soundman at this show
as opposed to our usual club shows with me doing sound from Stage..
 
I checked my setup at home after rehearsal and all the CC#'s I had set
previously were set to None. That's why my Scene Inc/Dec & Tuner
were not working. Reset the CC#'s I had before and everything worked
again. Don't know why they disappeared. Everything was saved (I think!)
I'll check again tomorrow and see where it's at.
Still can't get individual effects to turn on/off using IA switches. Toggle is
set on. No biggie, I can get by without that for now.
At any rate, I think I can go ahead with the live show Sat. Fingers crossed.

I checked my settings on the Axe III after setting up & breaking down
a couple times. Every time I start the Axe, my CC#'s are reset to None.
I have Scene Inc/Dec & Tuner set to specific CC#'s to control from the
MFC. I save after every change. But the CC#'s don't stick. Is there something
in the MFC that is changing these? The MFC works fine when it's connected
and the buttons do what they're supposed to do.
Is there a preferred startup sequence when the MFC is connected?
Power up Axe 1st, then MFC, or Vice versa? Don't understand why the #'s would
reset on normal use.

Those values are "global"... You don't need to (and in fact, can't) "save" them via the Store button. They are automatically saved as soon as you change them.

The MFC does not have a way to change them.

Do your other global settings remain after power cycle? Sounds like maybe a bad battery.

I would open a support case with Fractal.
 
I haven't saved or changed any Global settings that I know of.
I figured saving using the Store button had nothing to do with
the CC#'s, but gave it a shot. I believe other settings are intact
after Power cycle. I'll contact Fractal.

I was able to set up MFC-101 with Axe-Fx III with @Morphosis 's guide.
The only thing that doesn't work is the expression pedal connected to MFC-101.
I use FAS pedal with TRS. It does work connected to the Axe-FX III.

Does it work for you guys?

I used the same guide to configure the MFC-101 with my AxeFX III and am using an FAS EV-1 and a Boss FV-500H perfectly fine. I also had to rewatch Chris’ video to refresh my memory on how to setup the expression pedals .

It seems your settings on the MFC for external pedals (XP1/2/3/4 - CC#/#/#/#) is not identical to it's targets number inside the axe-fx (ext ctrl 1/2/3/4 - CC#/#/#/#)?
