Expecting electronics to hold their price is a sure fire way to be disappointed after a purchase.
Do you think you've had $500 worth of fun between when you bought it and now?
No, I'd rather have my $500

Yes, G66 has followed. There is no price difference.
Did G66 drop the prize on the Axe Fx III ?
In the same boat - totally considering the III now, and I LOVE my AX8I think somebody at Fractal figured out the magic of price points. At $2499 I'm safe from G.A.S., perfectly happy to go along with my Ax8. When I saw $1999 a month ago it started to bug me a little. Fast forward to last week, and here it is on my desk. Couldn't be happier about it, either.
Don't be an early adopter then. Early adopters pay top price. Us wait and see folk pay far less the longer we wait.
I bought mine for $3,339 on Reverb, July 2018, including shipping to Thailand. That's the price we have to pay when we live outside the privileged distribution ring
"Early" - before the price goes down.Definitely, the problem is what constitutes "early". I felt like I waited a good long time.
The cost of technology always goes down over time. I’m surprised this is an issue. Fractal has some inventory to move so they lowered the price AFIII is a mature unit now with lots of competition.
